Welcome

I am running for elections for the municipality of Lolland to unleash the potential of the area and the people, who do not follow the common path in life.

I am 31 years and moved back to Lolland in 2017 to contribute to the development of a region challenged by brain drain and unbalanced demographics. I live in Maribo with my wife, Susana, who is from Colombia, geologist of profession and currently studying climate change at Copenhagen University. Before then we lived, worked and studied in Colombia, Spain, UK, Brazil and Copenhagen and experienced the curiosity and openness of international communities. I am now starting to feel the same on Lolland, which is exciting.

I am a social entrepreneur, independent with my own company and co-founder of the The Green House and Maribo Craft Days among other projects. I am a youth consultant at Lolland Kommune and passionate about creating youthful communities with places to meet for locals as well as internationals. I want to make sure the voices of minorities Lolland such as youth, internationals and entrepreneurs are listened to.

My proposals and focus areas

Lolland Kommune as frontrunner for fighting climate change

Lolland Kommune produces more renewable energy than we can consume. We are front-runners and should go all-in on getting a faculty for sustainable agriculture and climate solutions. Benefitting from our energy surplus we should create an integrated transport system, which connect the local train with electric bike stations from small cities. We should invest in culture and youth to make longer travels less necessary and add CO2 quotas on food in public kitchens to avoid food waste and make for climate friendly decisions for our citizens easier.

Lolland Kommune as youthful municipality

The youth in Lolland Kommune is a minority, that is challenged on mental health and very small generations, who move away for higher education opportunities. Nevertheless, young people are a great ressource for a municipality and the backbone of a sustainable future when the tunnel is finished. We should listen to the young people and act upon their ideas. We need culture houses in Maribo and Nakskov with involvement of youth and informal activities through which children and young people can experience and learn what is not taught in school.

Social Entrepreneurship and environment for newcomers

According to statistics, Lolland has the fewest registered entrepreneurs in Denmark. I propose that we create an attractive environment for social, cultural and environmental entrepreneurs, who can help solve the challenges on Lolland and make it attractive for newcomers to live here. Lolland has the space, nature and societal circumstances to become a place for those who want to work less hours, spend more time with kids and as volunteers in organizations and/or become entrepreneurs. We need a strategy for social entrepreneurship.

Can I vote? Who, where and how?

Eligibility: Can I Vote?

You can vote if you are:

- 18 years or older
- Live in the Municipality of Lolland
- EU-citizen, citizen of Iceland or Norway OR have lived four consecutive years in Denmark

British citizens with address in Denmark prior to and since January 31st can vote. If they have their address registered after January 31st voting is only possible if they have lived 4 consecutive years in the country.

Who to vote for?

That's up to you. You can take a test to see which politicians you agree with (in Danish). I am also happy to answer your questions and participate in any debates or similar that could take places in English

How to vote?

Find a library. You can vote at the Library in Nakskov or Maribo until November 12th. You need to bring your yellow card (Sundhedskort) as proof of living in Denmark. Opening hours in the link below.
